SuSE comes at the top rather than in alphabetical order simply because it is my favorite distribution. Plus it is the distribution that I used as a reference for most of this site. SuSE, pronounced soo’-suh, comes from the German acronym, “Software und SystemEntwicklung (Software and System Development).
