Linux Tutorial Glossary - script
script
A text file containing written UNIX commands, shell built-in commands and shell programming syntax. Shell scripts must be made executable by setting the execute permission bit. Similar in nature to a DOS Batch file, but with for more programming constructs and features. Also referred to as shell script
