Smile Hi

I am wondering if someone can help me with:

How do i configure PAM to log in without authentication on the console, with password in the display manager (X window)

And the password must be 10 character long, and at least 3 capital letter
and 2 figure.

Any idea how i do this?

Can someone also explain how pam works?

Thanks

Greetings and welcome. This isn't my area of expertise but I found a general PAM document via Google:

http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-HOWTO/User-Authentication-HOWTO.html

Don't know if this will help, but I hate to see questions posted without at least an attempt to answer.

I don't provide specific help for homework assignments. My suggestion is to read the the documentation in configuration files for the PAM modules. In Debian that is found in /etc/pam.d.

I'd also recommend the documentation for each of the modules found in /usr/share/doc/pam_module_name.

Here's a link to the PAM administrator's guide too. http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/libs/pam/Linux-PAM-html/Linux-PAM_SAG.html
