I have a D Link DWL -G630 wirless AirPlusG plugged in and how do I configure it on Fedora?, I downloaded a driver for linux and the driver is "TNET1130_SYS.ko" from Driverguide but the uploader says he has only tested it on PFSense 1.2 and FreeBSD 7.0
and even if I want to try this I have no idea how to install this file on linux, like I do it on windows.
I tired on googling to find a solution but coudn't find any satifactory answer

This is NOT a Linux friendly card. Most of D-Links aren't. It's possible to get it working using the XP drivers and a wrapper called ndiswrapper though. (I had to use ndiswrapper the Broadcom 4318 chipset in my laptop until I finally tossed that chipset out and bought another one that's more Linux friendly.)
Wireless is one area where Linux doesn't have good coverage and you have to be really careful about what hardware you buy. The manufacturers just aren't being very cooperative with the open source community in this area.
I have a link for you but it's to an Ubuntu site. It will at least familiarize you with the process somewhat, but I'd recommend that you go to the Fedora users forum and ask for help there as most of us here use Debian or one of its descendants. Fedora has its own package management tools and administration tools which are different than those found in the Debian family so it's best for someone just get started in Linux to go "to the horse's mouth" so speak to get specific step-by-step instructions until you get a little better idea of what's going on.
Here's the link to what several people had to do in Ubuntu to get this card to work.

Just to let you know, sIlIcon_dReamz...you don't *have* to post all of your questions in the "newbie" forum. For example, this question would have been more appropriately posted in either the "networking" or "HOW TO" forums. No worries, just a word to the wise.
Thanks mate but I've just found a way to make it work I didn't have to install the driver, I think it was already there with the Fedora installation
Anyway thanks again for your kind help
Someone must have come up with an open source driver then as I didn't realize Fedora was installing proprietary software. Mind posting how you fixed it? It will help the next guy who goes searching for a solution to the same problem you had. It's a good way to give back to the Linux community.

Sorry Trip I thought as I am a newbie this is where I should post my questions, but next time I will do the right thing.
And ffreeloader it was an accidental discovery but I will do the same tasks I did and try to find the correct steps, then I will publish it in "HOW TO" catogory.

Accidental discovery or not, if you find a way to fix a problem you run into post it. That will help someone else with the same problem. People are who run Linux are always Googling to find solutions to the problems they run into, so posting a solution is always good thing. Just saying you found a fix helps no one else.
BTW, penicillin was "accidentally" discovered too. It just goes to show that how you find something out sometimes has very little relation to its value to someone else.

well thanks for you help and advises ffreeloader I really do appreciate that but I kindly sugggest you to read my last reply carefully, I mentioned it was an accidental discovery but it doesn't mean I'm not gonna publish it, I meant by that I didn't do any formal procedure to activate it, I mean just a few clicks so it appeared so what I want to do now is to remember the steps that I took and write them down clearly so that other people can understand (because I don't even know what I did, are you able to remember if you do something for the first time without a formal procedure?)and then I can publish it on "how to", I think I have mentioned that too.
Hope you get my point now.
BTW if it is the case with my english appologies for that
Thank you
PS - A favour though, please try to be soft on rookies

If you can't remember what you did that's one thing. I've been there and done that too. My point was not put you down, just to say, since you're new to Linux, that one of the ways to give back is to post your solutions to the problems you run into. And, it's better to just post your solution right here in this thread. This thread is what people will find when Googling for the same problem you had.
BTW. your English is just fine. It's far better than any second language I use. Oh, that's right, I don't know a second language.... Don't let your fear of how think you'll be seen stop you. Anyone who reads your fix and is able to fix the same problem won't give a hoot about your English "as a second language" fears. All they will remember is that you helped them.
If they are bigoted enough to think bad of you because your English may not be that of a native English speaker, their opinion isn't worth worrying about. Forget about those kinds of jerks. They are scum of the earth.
