Hello,

My name is Brian, and I'm from Southern California USA. I'm exploring the world of linux ... currently typing from FireFox3 in Ubuntu 8.04. I'm trying to learn more about Linux and specifically Web Servers. My goal is to set up a web server within the next couple of months. I have concerns about security, and want to learn how to have my own web server and not get hacked.

I have been doing web design and development for about 5 years, and enjoy it. In the last year I've done a few web sites for other people, and it's nice to make a little money for doing something that I enjoy. My real job is owner of a small sewing machine dealership. At some point I'd like to switch over to full time web designer, but I've never worked for an agency, and getting a job without having agency experience is hard for me.

Anyways, that is a little about me.

Thank you,
Brian G.
