A member named Sean tried to post this as a news item but I thought it would be more appropriate here.

-Trip

My PC has an onboard VGA and an AGP VGA plugged in. But when I tried to install Linux(distros like:SuSE,Mandriva 2008,Ubuntu 7.10 etc...) It probes for Hardware devices and shows an error as "Kernel Panic"...Pls. help me out to solve this problem.

I tried the live CD of Knoppix 3.4. It works really well and it probes the default VGA as my AGP VGA. The problem arises with the kernel version 2.5 and 2.6 according to my knowledge....

Thanx in advance.

Sean

I'm curious as to what version you're using of the distros that you list. You're version of Knoppix is very old, as the current version is 5.1.

Can you post the exact error message that is generated that causes the kernel panic, and the hardware manufacturer and model numbers of your hardware?
